The duo first met in 1990 when their two daughters, who were in the same school and of the same age, became best friends. Edye followed this passion directly throughout her storied career, having vaulted up the ranks of Neiman Marcus to become Vice President and General Manager. Meanwhile, Maureen had worked for over 20 years at a Fortune 500 company, breaking through the glass ceiling to become an Executive Vice President. While both strived for excellence on a daily basis in these corporate environments, they often chatted of their hopes and dreams for the future.
